WHAT – A military retreat ceremony to honor Gen. Craig R. McKinley, former Chief of the National Guard Bureau, who is retiring after more than 35 years of military service – four of those as the Chief of the National Guard Bureau. McKinley, a Jacksonville native and Florida National Guardsman, was the first Chief of the National Guard Bureau to hold a position on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
WHEN – 3 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012. Media are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes prior to the event. Media members will have the opportunity to conduct interviews immediately following the ceremony.
