BAGRAM, Afghanistan - Insurgents killed two civilians and wounded 12 others during attacks against noncombatant Afghan citizens in eastern Afghanistan from Oct. 7 to Oct. 13.

Three women were injured when insurgents attacked the Wale Aser Afghan National Police Station in Ghazni city Friday. The injuries occurred when an insurgent-fired rocket landed in a residential compound.

Ghazni Provincial Governor, Musa Khan Akbarzada, condemned the attack, which he said proved the insurgents continue to show complete disregard for the people of Afghanistan.

"Insurgents once again showed that they can't face and resist Afghan National Security Forces and instead keep killing and wounding innocent local people. Today, with a total disregard to the lives of civilians, armed insurgents fired a rocket on a civilian house and wounded three women," Akbarzada said.

Despite the efforts of the enemies of the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, ISAF forces in eastern Afghanistan remain committed to partnering with their Afghan National Security Forces counterparts to secure a stable and prosperous future for the Afghan people.
Governor Akbarzada strongly condemned the attack and prays for a speedy recovery of the wounded.
