HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Ga. - About 200 Soldiers, Family Members and civilians participated in Hunter Army Airfield's Community Showcase and Travel Show on Mar. 8, in the Tominac Fitness Center.

The free event featured 40 exhibitors from the southeast area. Community Showcase vendors represented organizations such as the Savannah Sand Gnats, the Coastal Heritage Society, the City of Richmond Hill Convention & Visitors Bureau, and many others. Travel show vendors included the Emerald Princess Casino, the Georgia Aquarium, Sands Resorts, Hilton Oceanfront Resort and more.

Lieutenant Colonel Jose Aguilar, garrison commander, Hunter Army Airfield, presented the Best in Travel Show award to the Georgia Tourism and the Best in Community Showcase, to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Coastal Georgia. These awards were given to recipients who scored the most points by five judges and were based on booth appearance, booth concept, and booth information. Hunter judges for the event included Mrs. Suzanne Aguilar, Hunter spouse; Mrs. Kelly Colbrook, Hunter spouse; Ms. Sharita Wilkinson, Hunter Public Affairs intern; Sgt. 1st Class Theresa Abraham, Hunter Garrison Operations; and Capt. Peter Frischholz, Hunter Garrison Operations.

Altogether, 23 door prizes were given to showcase attendees, including a one night stay and breakfast for two from Marriott Atlanta that was awarded to Sgt. Gregory Procopio, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 260th Quartermaster Battalion.

"I was very excited about winning and can't wait to stay at the Marriot," said Sgt. Procopio. "The showcase was fun and a great opportunity to learn about leisure activities outside the gates."

At the conclusion of the showcase, Lt. Col. Aguilar thanked vendors for coming to Hunter and presented each with a certificate of appreciation.
