NAPMO Operations, Plans and Logistics Committee Members Visit the NATO E-3A Component at Geilenkirchen Air Base

On 19 September 2012, members of the NAPMO Operations, Plans and Logistics (OPL) Committee visited the NATO E-3A Component at Geilenkirchen Air Base, Germany, to view two new capabilities at the Component’s Training Wing. Committee members visited the newly delivered Flight Training Device (FTD) and the Mission Training Center (MTC) that is still undergoing testing and is scheduled for a November 2012 delivery. During final FTD testing, the certification team that performed the test called the FTD the best system of its kind they had ever tested.

In addition, the OPL committee members visited the Component’s Logistics Wing and toured the Data Link Test Facility. The visit gave committee members a first-hand view of the important projects they are helping shape to enhance the NE-3A’s operational capability.
