Office History:
The Carolinas Field Office (CAFO) is located aboard Camp Lejeune, NC, and provides support to Marine Corps and Navy installations throughout North and South Carolina.  Camp Lejeune is home to II Marine Expeditionary Forces (II MEF), along with tens of thousands of Marines and Sailors living and working in the local area.  Special Agents assigned to the Carolinas Field Office are engaged in all NCIS mission sets, to include criminal investigations, counterintelligence and counterterrorism cases, procurement fraud, polygraph, technical services, and cyber operations.  A full-time forensic consultant and Major Case Response Team are also located within the field office at Camp Lejeune.

NCIS Field Office (NCISFO) Carolinas located at Camp Lejeune; NCIS Resident Agency (NCISRA) Camp Lejeune; NCISRA Cherry Point; NCIS Resident Unit (NCISRU) New River, Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) Wilmington; Counterintelligence (CI) Detachment Raleigh; NCISRA Charleston; JTTF Charleston; NCISRA Parris Island; and CI Detachment Columbia.

Investigative Units:
The Family and Sexual Violence Unit at NCISFO covers investigations involving child sexual and physical abuse, child pornography, rape, indecent assault, and domestic violence.  The Criminal Unit handles all other felony violations. 

The NCISFO Special Operations Unit is involved with numerous proactive law enforcement strategies designed to identify and neutralize a variety of criminal threats, including illegal drugs, stolen property, fraud, and organized crime. 

The NCISFO Sex Crimes Task Force was created at Camp Lejeune to aid in sex related crime investigations.

The NCISFO Counterintelligence Unit is involved in the full spectrum of counterintelligence and counterterrorism (CT) initiatives.

NCISRA Cherry Point supports Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, NC and the Second Marine Aircraft Wing. 

NCISRA Charleston supports Joint Base Charleston, Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Goose Creek, SC, and the surrounding area.

NCISRA Parris Island supports Marine Corps Recruiting Depot, Parris Island, SC, and Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Beaufort, SC.
