TSUNAMI AVOIDANCE
The USS O'Kane makes its way out of Pearl Harbor as the state of Hawaii prepares for a possible tsunami generated by an 8.8-magnitude earthquake near Chile. The U.S. Navy ordered four ships based at Pearl Harbor to move out of harm's way as a precautionary measure, but the warning was later canceled, and the ships returned.

ROCKY LANDING
Students from the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL class 281 participate in a rock portage exercise on Coronado Island, Calif., Feb. 23, 2010. Rock portage is one of many physically demanding evolutions included in the first phase of training. Navy SEALs are the maritime component of U.S. Special Forces and are trained to conduct a variety of operations from the sea, air and land.
