12/11/2009 On November 28, 2009, U.S. Customs and Border Protection assumed control of immigration procedures for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). This action was a part of the implementation of federal immigration law to the CNMI. The new program extends the period of admission from 15 to 45 days, expands the geographic area from Guam only to Guam and the CNMI, and modifies the list of eligible countries. | |
