There’s no one reason to give blood. Maybe you or a family member received blood, or you think that one day you’ll be in need of it. Maybe your friend or colleague asked you to give blood. Maybe you think it’s the right thing to do. No matter the reason, your getting involved helps the Red Cross maintain a healthy and reliable blood supply.

Hosting a blood drive with the Red Cross is a partnership. You offer a suitable location, recruit and schedule donors, and publicize the drive. We'll do the rest, working with you every step of the way to plan and organize the event. We provide screening equipment, help you determine how many donors to expect and how to recruit them, and we screen donors and collect donations. It's a great way to give back to your community.

Red Cross Blood Services volunteers help to ensure that every blood donor has a positive experience, and that they are thanked for their contribution – because, when the time comes, we want these generous people to return to help save even more lives. From those who welcome donors at blood drives and thank them at the refreshment area to transportation specialists and team leaders, office assistants, trainers, and community outreach specialists, we have many roles depending on your expertise, availability and interest.
