NAPSA Foundation

In the years since its formation, NAPSA has identified two critical areas relating to APS practice which are not being addressed at the national level. These areas are research related to APS practice, and standardized professional training for APS practitioners. Since there are no statutes or agency at the Federal level to address these activities, NAPSA has been identified as the only national level organization with the appropriate expertise to conduct research and develop training materials for the field of Adult Protective Services.

In order to carry out these activities, NAPSA incorporated the National Adult Protective Services Foundation on November 30, 2001, in Colorado as a separate entity through which members of the Adult Protective Services profession and members of local, state national communities may channel grants and contributions in support of research and education relating to the practice of Adult Protective Services. Effective August 8, 2002, the Foundation was granted 501 (c) (3) status by the Internal Revenue Service. The Foundation’s activities will concentrate in four areas: fundraising, conducting research, developing educational programs and providing scholarships.
