The GovDelivery module provides integration with the GovDelivery On-Demand Mailer service, a web service for GovDelivery customers that sends messages directly based on configured account information. The module replaces the backend of SMTP library in your Drupal site with calls to the GovDelivery service, so all mail sent from your site uses the ODM service.
The module provides the following features:
- Multiple ODM accounts, allowing multiple mail senders. Messages are always sent from pre-defined "from" addresses based on the ODM account settings.
- Subscriber API support.
- Messages can be sent immediately or queued. Messages with errors are queued for resend.
- An administrative interface for reviewing queued messages and sending individual messages in the queue.
- A drush command for processing the mail queue and for sending test messages
- Integration with the nagios module for monitoring the size of the outbound message queue.
To enable sending messages via the GovDelivery ODM web service, you must set the value of the smtp_library
system variable to use the ODM back end. The module provides an easy way to do this from its settings page.
