A huge thank you to our volunteers for helping us shake buckets at the Disturbed Concert in #Auckland last Friday, to raise money for our Earthquake Appeal. They helped raise $2,500! We’re also very grateful to Disturbed for inviting our fundraising volunteers to the concert and donating a portion of the proceeds.

Fundraising is great way to help the people affected by last week’s quakes. There are hundreds of ways you can fundraise - walk around your office with a bucket, create a fundraising page, sell some of your famous scones or muffins, set yourself a sporting challenge and seek sponsorship, or create a coin trail at schools… Be creative! By fundraising for our appeal, you are supporting New Zealand Red Cross respond to and support affected communities. Read more https://www.redcross.org.nz/…/fundraise-november-2016-eart…/ #eqnz

Our International Delegate Programme Manager, Aaron Davy, has found himself temporarily without a home and workplace after they were both evacuated this week.

He's making the most of it though and has been able to keep working despite having little more than the shirt on his back. His story is one of many around the country as Red Cross staff and volunteers personally affected by the earthquake work tirelessly to help fellow Kiwis in need.

Here he explains an eventful week in Wellington.

“I met one woman and her three young children whose house was damaged, and eventually red-stickered, following an aftershock. I brought her into Red Cross and all of a sudden, she had hope..." Our volunteers are working around the clock. They've visited 300 houses in #Kaikoura, and distributed 500 food parcels there. In #Marlborough, volunteers have visited 174 houses, and are setting up three drop-in centres. The latest on our response:
