The Medical Division (NMC-6) of the US Coast Guard National Maritime Center (NMC) is responsible for determining the medical fitness for duty of 220,000 mariners to serve in the capacities specified by the licenses, documents, rating endorsements, officer endorsements, and STCW endorsements for which they apply.
