House Natural Resources Chair to Inspect TX Salamander Habitat

Chairman of Natural Resources Committee to Inspect Texas Salamander Habitat Wednesday

(AUSTIN, TEXAS) – House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Doc Hastings (R-WA) will inspect Texas salamander habitat in Austin with Congressman John Carter (R-TX31) tomorrow (WEDNESDAY), as part of the continuing controversy over a premature and potentially illegal listing of the species under the Endangered Species Act. 

Chairman Hastings will join Congressman Carter, state and local officials, and community leaders at Avery Deer Spring, a prime salamander habitat, located in the middle of a real estate development on Lisi Anne Drive in Austin.    The news conference will provide excellent photo and video opportunities of the habitat and surrounding neighborhood, and interviews with Chairman Hastings and Congressman Carter.
