This report summarizes the awards made by the National Institute of Justice in fiscal year 1994 to support research, development, evaluation, training, and dissemination in criminal justice. |

Abstract:
|
The list includes grants, interagency agreements and cooperation agreements, contracts, and fellowships. Awards made in fiscal year 1994 to supplement projects begun earlier are also included. The awards are listed under goal categories. Twenty- three awards were designed to reduce violent crimes and their consequences. Twenty-six awards focused on reducing drug-related and alcohol-related crimes. Seven awards were intended to reduce the consequences of crimes that involve individuals, households, organizations, and communities. Ten awards addressed the development of household, school, business, workplace, and community crime prevention programs. Sixty-four awards were designed to improve the effectiveness of law enforcement, criminal justice, correctional, and service systems' responses to offenses, offending, and victimization. Fifteen awards focused on developing, promoting, and using criminal justice research, evaluation, and technology. The information on each award includes award number, name of award, name of grantee or contractor, name of principal investigator, dollar amount of award, and a brief description. |
