USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) commissioned at the Port of Galveston in Galveston, Texas, Saturday, Sept. 22. The ship was officially placed in service by Vice Chief of Naval Operations (VCNO), Adm. Mark E. Ferguson III.
USS Anzio Launches Air-to-Air Missile During UNITAS  (21 September 2012)
The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Anzio (CG 68) conducted a standard missile (SN-2) launch and a live fire gunnery exercise during a drone exercise supporting UNITAS Atlantic 53-12, Sept. 21, which is being hosted by U.S. Fourth Fleet.

A live-fire exercise, part of Valiant Shield 2012, sank the ex-USS Coronado (AGF-11) in waters 3,045 fathoms (18,270 feet) deep, 102 nautical miles south of Guam at about 3:20 pm local time, Sept. 12.

USS Fort Worth Departs Mayport for Commissioning  (14 September 2012)
The Navy's newest Littoral Combat Ship, USS Fort Worth (LCS 3), sailed away from Naval Station Mayport, Fla., Sep. 13, beginning the final leg of its maiden voyage to its commissioning site in Galveston, Texas.

The F-35 Lightning II accomplished a significant test milestone Aug. 8 when the aircraft successfully released a weapon in flight.
VAQ-130 Lands its First Growler Aboard Truman  (19 July 2012)
