Our Story

I'm Captain John Burns, Director of the Military Sealift Command Detachment at USTRANSCOM. I've worked with Military Sealift Command in some capacity for twenty-eight years.

As director of our USTRANSCOM Detachment, I get to help support our troops and humanitarian efforts throughout the world every day. As a sealift component to USTRANSCOM, Military Sealift Command delivers ninety percent of the goods to our warfighters throughout the world.

I'm proud to work here at USTRANSCOM. Everyday I get work with dozens of other proactive professionals, applying business case analysis to save taxpayer dollars in best support of our warfighters throughout the world.
