The transition to ACE for all rail and sea manifest processing has begun. Effective September 29, 2012, ACE will be the only approved system for transmitting required advance rail and sea cargo information and ABI in-bond transactions to CBP.

04/20/2012 Effective September 29, 2012, ACE will be the only CBP-approved EDI for transmitting required advance information for ocean and rail cargo to CBP. See the Federal Register Notice, published March 29, 2012, for further information. If the required programming changes are not made when this transition takes place, EDI messages for ocean and rail manifest and ABI in-bond transactions will fail.

05/30/2012 The In-Bond Authorization User Guide provides instruction to sea and rail carriers on how to create a list of authorized Type 2 In-Bond users via their ACE Secure Data Portal accounts. This functionality will allow the carrier to control who can Obligate the Type 2 custodial bond.
