About NGA 

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is the nation’s primary source of geospatial intelligence, or GEOINT. As a Department of Defense combat support agency and a member of the U.S. Intelligence Community, NGA creates GEOINT using remotely sensed data, physical geography, land cover and cultural data collected by a myriad of sources to help its mission partners visualize and understand the world. NGA provides GEOINT data and analytical services to support safety of navigation on land, air and sea.

NGA’s mission is to provide timely, relevant and accurate GEOINT in support of U.S. national defense and natural disasters. GEOINT is the exploitation and analysis of imagery and geospatial information that describes, assesses and visually depicts physical features and geographically referenced activities on the Earth. GEOINT answers the questions "When?" and "Where?" and helps to answer the “Why?” It uses GEOINT to make sense of volumes of data and information.

NGA’s vision is “Putting the Power of GEOINT in Your Hands.” To accomplish this, NGA provides online and on-demand capabilities to improve mission partners’ access to GEOINT data, and creates new value by broadening and deepening its analytical expertise to provide contextual GEOINT analysis of places, events and issues informed not only by the earth’s physical features and imagery intelligence but also by human geography. NGA is taking GEOINT to the next level by offering a new service delivery model that includes:

• Self Service: enabling users to discover, visualize, access, download, research, analyze, create and update GEOINT content on their own.
• Assisted Service: offering customized products and analysis that require unique GEOINT expertise in a direct or online environment.
• Full Service: delivering heightened analysis and exceptional operation support, either online or through embedded personnel.

Approximately two-thirds of the NGA workforce is assigned at NGA Campus East and approximately one-third is assigned to the two St. Louis facilities. In addition, NGA professionals are continuously deployed to worldwide locations providing intelligence expertise in support of national defense objectives.
