I am a military spouse and would like to go to school. Are there any programs or scholarships designed for me?

There are a number of different programs and/or scholarships you can choose from. One of the most notable programs is the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts Program (MyCAA), a component of the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) program.

MyCAA is a career development and employment assistance program designed specifically for military spouses. It helps active duty spouses pursue licenses, certificates, certifications or the two-year degree necessary for rewarding employment in high demand, high growth “portable” career fields and emerging occupations. Counselors are available to help you explore career options and create a plan of action. For more information, check out the MyCAA Fact Sheet or answers to frequently asked questions about the program.

There are a variety of other resources to help you fund your education and training, including federal student aid programs, grants and scholarships specifically for military spouses. For a list of scholarships and other sources of financial assistance, visit the section on Scholarships & Grants for Spouses & Dependents on the National Resource Directory.
