TRICARE Retail Network Pharmacy

If you need a prescription filled right away and are unable to get to a military pharmacy, you can visit one of the more than 57,000 TRICARE retail network pharmacies.  TRICARE retail network pharmacies are available in:

  • the United States
  • Guam
  • the Northern Mariana Islands
  • Puerto Rico
  • the U.S.Virgin Islands

They are not located in any other overseas areas.

At retail network pharmacies, you can fill prescriptions (up to a 30-day supply of most prescription medications) for minimal out-of-pocket costs.  We recommend using a retail network pharmacy for new prescriptions your health care provider has required you to start taking immediately.

Additionally, you may receive certain covered vaccines for zero copayment at participating network pharmacies. To find a participating pharmacy, click here or call 1-877-363-1303.

Using a retail network pharmacy is easy.  Simply present the pharmacist with your written prescription, along with your uniformed services identification card.  If you have any difficulties having your prescriptions filled at your local retail network pharmacy, please contact Express Scripts, Inc.

Enrolled in the US Family Health Plan?

Remember, you will fill prescriptions through your US Family Health Plan's pharmacies, either onsite, network or mail-order, depending on what pharmacy options are available with your plan.  You will not access military treatment facility pharmacies or TRICARE's other pharmacy options. Quick and convenient!

Visiting a TRICARE retail network pharmacy is quick and convenient when:

  • You're not near a military pharmacy;
  • You need a prescription right away and the military pharmacy is closed; or
  • Your prescription isn't on the Basic Core Formulary.

Is home delivery a better option?

If you were prescribed a "maintenance" medication, something you'll need to take on a regular basis for a long period of time, filling prescriptions via home delivery is more cost-effective for you.

Do you have a family member who is also a provider?

Providers can't write prescriptions of any kind (controlled or non-controlled) for family members.
