Other Health Insurance
Other health insurance is any health insurance you receive through an employer or private insurance program. Any other health insurance you have in addition to your TRICARE coverage is your primary health insurance.
If you have other health insurance, tell your provider and regional contractor. Keeping your regional contractor informed about your other health insurance will allow TRICARE to better coordinate your benefits and will help ensure that there is no delay in payment of claims.
Medicare
Like TRICARE, Medicare is a federal entitlement, and cannot be "dropped" like other private health plans. While Medicare does pay before TRICARE, it is not considered to be "other health insurance." If you have Medicare and another private health insurance plan, TRICARE will pay last. >>Learn More
Supplemental Insurance
Supplemental insurance policies, offered for purchase by some military associations and private companies, are not considered "other health insurance" plans. These plans pay after TRICARE. >>Learn More
