The following links contain useful reference information about the the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Inland Electronic Navigational Charting (IENC) Program,

- USACE National E-Charting Program
-- The primary USACE Charting Program WWW Site with national data sets and
program information.
- Engineering Manual 1110-2-1003 -- The EM 1110-2-1003,
titled: Engineering and Design - Hydrographic Surveying, includes a chapter (19)
called "Electronic Charts of Inland and Coastal Navigation Systems," which codifies
the USACE approch to charting.
- Download a S-57 Viewer
-- Visit the Open ECDIS Forum
and click on Freeware to obtain a S-57 Viewer for displaying IENCs on your computer.
- Download the "CARIS Easy View" S-57 Viewer
-- Unlike previous free downloads from CARIS, an access code will be sent to the email address you provide in the registration form. As such, your valid email address is required.
- ECS & ECDIS Systems

- European Inland ECDIS Standard
-- Follow developments in the Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine's

NOAA ENC WWW Site -- The Office of Coast Survey (OCS) is developing Electronic Navigational Charts. They offer ENC products available for download.
