Enrollment

Enrollment in the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program is voluntary. You can enroll online, by telephone or by mail. Online or telephone enrollment is strongly encouraged to avoid delays in delivering and processing mail and initiating coverage. Coverage will begin on the first day of the month following the acceptance of your enrollment application and a two-month premium prepayment.

If you decide to enroll, you must fulfill an initial enrollment period of 12 consecutive months. After the initial 12-month period, you become eligible for the full scope of benefits offered under the Enhanced or Enhanced-Overseas program and will continue enrollment on a month-to-month basis. There is a grace period of 30 days from your coverage effective date when you can cancel your enrollment agreement without further obligation, provided you have not used any of your covered services during that time.
