October 15, 2012 - As we wrap up Hispanic Heritage Month on October 15, I'd like to recognize the significant contributions made by our nation's Hispanic-Americans.

October 09, 2012 - The 2012 U.S. defense strategy reaffirmed the nation's commitment to Asia and the Pacific. This reaffirmation was welcomed by the more than 28,000 soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and Department of Defense civilians serving in Korea.

June 27, 2012 - To all our dedicated service-members, civilians, and family members - Happy Fourth of July. On July 4th we will take time to celebrate our nation's 236th birthday. Since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July, 1776, values like personal liberty and free democracy have enabled our country to become a global leader. These values, and our defense of them, have led the United States being "the shining city on the hill"; a role model for other countries to emulate.
