Visitor Information

Cadet Chapel InteriorDue to the current force protection condition, visitors to the Air Force Academy must enter through the North Gate, which can be accessed from Exit 156B on Interstate 25, 14 miles north of downtown Colorado Springs. All visitors who need to be sponsored onto the installation for other business must use the South Gate Pass and Registration Center (PRC). Visitors with a valid need to enter must have a photo ID.  For more information, call the Visitor's Center at 719-333-2025 or e-mail pa.comrel@usafa.af.mil

The Academy is open to visitors daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Visitor's Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
tabAdditional Information 
Use of handheld cell phones while driving is prohibited. A driver may use a cell phone only with a handsfree device or if the vehicle is parked. Violators will be ticketed.

Large bags and backpacks are not allowed in the Visitor Center, the trail from the Visitor Center to the Cadet Chapel or the chapel. Pets are also not allowed.

Motorcycle riders must wear a Department of Transportation-approved helmet with a strap and eye protection, sturdy over-the-ankle footwear, a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, long trousers, full-fingered gloves or mittens and a brightly colored and reflective upper outergarment.

Bicyclists must wear helmets and reflective outerwear. Group riders must stay in single file with traffic on base roads.
tabAreas Open to Visitors 
Visitors may access several overlooks across the Academy, the Cadet Chapel, the Honor Court, Arnold Hall, the Cadet Field House, Falcon Athletic Center, Falcon Stadium, the Association of Graduates building and the Visitor Center. Some of these facilities do not open until 9 a.m. The Terrazzo, airfield and housing areas are off-limits. tabGroups 
Organizations that are sponsoring either events with more than 100 people during visitor hours or events with any number of people outside visitor hours must notify the 10th Security Forces Squadron of their event to ensure the gates are prepared for the increase of traffic and searches.

The following information is required:

-- Name of event
-- Date and time 
-- Sponsor or contact number
-- Approximate number of visitors

Visitor requests should be sent by the sponsoring agency to 10SFS.S5B@us.af.mil no later than 72 hours prior to event. Mark the subject line with the name of the event.

All visitors must show their driver's license to the guard and expect to have their vehicle inspected or other random security measures taken prior to entering the Academy. Visitors who refuse to comply with security measures will not be allowed access on base.
