U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter, Blaine Sector September 6–19

(Monday, September 24, 2012)

Blaine, Wash. – The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations. For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

09/13/2012 – Operators of a remote video surveillance system observed a subject illegally cross the United States/Canada border near Blaine, Washington. Responding Blaine Border Patrol agents were able to locate the subject, who was determined to be a citizen of Cuba illegally present in the United States. The individual was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

09/17/2012 – A concerned citizen reported a suspicious individual near the United States/Canada border east of Blaine, Washington. Blaine Border Patrol agents located the individual who had attempted to avoid detection by hiding in the bushes. The subject, a citizen of Mexico, admitted having just entered the United States illegally. The individual was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

09/17/2012 – While patrolling the border, Blaine Border Patrol agents encountered two individuals in close proximity to the United States/Canada border east of Blaine, Washington. One of the subjects, a citizen of Mexico, admitted to being illegally present in the United States. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal. The second individual, who had legal status in the United States, was released.

09/17/2012 – While patrolling the border, Sumas Border Patrol agents responded to a possible illegal entry east of Sumas, Washington. Agents discovered three abandoned duffel bags containing what was determined to be ecstasy and marijuana worth an estimated $2.39 million. The drugs were processed for seizure.

09/18/2012 – Operators of a remote video surveillance system observed five subjects illegally cross the United States/Canada border east of Blaine, Washington. Blaine Border Patrol agents were able to locate and apprehend the individuals. All five were determined to be citizens of India illegally present in the United States. The subjects were placed under arrest and processed for removal.
