An Army National Guard recruit takes the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) at a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).
The ASVAB tests a recruit’s skills in several different areas, and the results help determine a potential recruit’s career options. Later on at MEPS, the recruit will meet with a career counselor to discuss the results and options for a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) that best suits the recruit’s skills and the Army National Guard’s needs.
