2/9/2011 - HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. (AFNS) -- Members of the 4th Special Operations Squadron participate in a training mission aboard an AC-130U Spooky here Feb. 3. The AC-130U is the primary weapon for members of Air Force Special Operations Command. The gunship's primary missions are close-air support, air interdiction and armed reconnaissance.
2/10/2011 2:29:37 PM ET Spooky is by far the best close air support platform next to the A-10 Warthog. With a loiter time over the target of 4 hours and the biggest gun ever mounted on an aircraft it's an awesome machine. I can't wait to see the upgraded version with its precision strike capabilties using guided weapons.
