Family Support Research and Reports

National Study on Crime against Persons with Disabilities, 2007 Conducted by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, US Department of Justice, this study presents the first estimates of crime against people with disabilities measured by the National Crime Victimization Survey. The report focuses on the victimization experiences of people with disabilities, and compares disability types, victim characteristics, and crime characteristics, such as reporting crime to the police and the presence of weapons during the crime. The study also compares the statistics against those of people without disabilities.

Legal Research and Reports

Independent Living Research Utilization (ILRU) The ILRU program is a national center for information, training, research, and technical assistance in independent living. Its goal is to expand the body of knowledge in independent living and to improve utilization of results of research programs and demonstration projects in this field. It is a program of the Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR), a nationally recognized medical rehabilitation facility for people with disabilities.
