TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS)
TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS) is a premium based TRICARE health plan available for purchase by
qualified members of the Selected Reserve (SelRes) when not called to Active Duty.
TRS features:
- Comprehensive health care benefits
- Covered benefits similar to TRICARE Standard and TRICARE Extra
- TRICARE Standard and TRICARE Extra cost sharing, deductibles, and catastrophic caps that apply
to active-duty family members (including TRS members, him/herself).
There are two types of coverage: TRS member-only coverage and TRS member and family
coverage. You pay monthly premiums, in advance. There is no annual or quarterly
billing. Ordinarily, premium costs are adjusted January 1 every year, with new costs
published in the months just before January.
