Colonel Robert J. Lehman

Colonel Lehman was born and raised in southeast Virginia. He graduated college as an ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate and commissioned in the US Army in 1987. His military education includes the Transportation Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms Services Staff School and the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, the Airborne and Air Assault Courses, and the Inspectors General Course. His has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration (Management) from Christopher Newport University and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan University.
Colonel Lehman’s previous assignments include Platoon Leader, 1097th Transportation Company, Fort Davis, Panama; Executive Officer, Headquarters Commandant, US Southern Command, Quarry Heights, Panama; Regional Movement Control Team Commander, 25th Transportation Battalion, Busan, Korea; Support Operations Officer, 7th Division Support Command, Fort Ord, California; Plans and Operations Officer, 7th Transportation Group, and Commander, and 329th Transportation Company, Fort Eustis, Virginia; Training with Industry, Federal Express Corp, Memphis, Tennessee; Chief of Plans, Headquarters, Military Traffic Management Command; Headquarters Commandant, Division Transportation Officer, G4 Planner, and Deputy G4, 25th Infantry Division, and Executive Officer, 524th Combat Support Battalion, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; G4, US Army Hawaii; G4 Transportation, Resource Energy and Troop Support for US Army Pacific, Fort Shafter, Hawaii. Support Operations Officer and Deputy Commander, 593rd Sustainment Brigade, Fort Lewis, Washington; Commander, 833d Transportation Battalion, Seattle, Washington; and recently I Corps Transportation Officer, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Colonel Lehman has participated in multiple deployments and tours to include operations in Panama, Haiti, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (5OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC) and the Army Achievement Medal.
Colonel Lehman was married to the late Colonel Janice M. Lehman of Seattle, a former active duty Army Nurse. They lived in Olympia, Washington where they enjoyed being with family and the abundant beauty of the great Pacific Northwest.
