DoD Directive 1250.01, "National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (NCESGR)," April 13, 2004, certified as current April 23, 2007 This Directive updates NCESGR policy and implements the congressional direction that the Secretary of Defense provide assistance and education to military members and employers concerning rights, benefits, and obligations under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).

DoD Directive 1342.17, "Family Policy," December 30, 1998, certified as current November 21, 2003 This Directive establishes policies, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures on family policy for the DoD. In addition to numerous other family programs, this Directive specifically states that the military components will provide deployment support to help service members and their families successfully manage the challenges of mobilization and deployment.

DoD Instruction 1205.12, "Civilian Employment and Reemployment Rights of Applicants for, and Service Members and Former Service Members of the Uniformed Services," April 16, 1997 This Instruction updates implementation policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for informing service members and individuals who apply for uniformed service of their civilian employment and reemployment rights, benefits, and obligations.

DoD Instruction 1205.22, "Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve," March 17, 1997 This Instruction implements policy and assigns responsibilities for developing programs to promote employer and community support for the activities of the National Guard and Reserve.

DoD Instruction 1342.19, "Family Care Plans," May 7, 2010 This Instruction establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures on the care of family members of DoD and emergency-essential (E-E) civilian personnel who are single parents; dual-military couples with dependents; or members of E-E civilian personnel who otherwise bear sole responsibility for the care of children under the age of 19; or other personnel with family members who are unable to care for themselves in the absence of the member or E-E employee.

DoD Instruction 1342.22, "Family Centers," December 30, 1992 This Instruction establishes policy guidance, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for the implementation, oversight, accountability, staffing, and funding of Family Centers across the military. Mobility and/or deployment assistance is listed among the baseline services to be provided at all DoD Family Centers.

DoD Instruction 1342.23, "Family Readiness in the National Guard and Reserve Components," September 29, 1994 This Instruction implements policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for National Guard and Reserve family programs.
