12/18/2011 - WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- According to the Office of the Secretary of Defense comptroller, Bob Hale, the House and Senate have now passed a defense appropriations bill as part of an omnibus appropriation package.

"Later today we expect them to pass a six-day continuing resolution allowing time for enrollment and signature of the omnibus package," Hale said. "The president's signature will put a final end to any shutdown issues, but that could be several days away.

"Meanwhile, though, DOD should plan for normal operations unless otherwise directed," he said. "All personnel should report for work on Monday (or earlier if they have a regular duty day over the weekend)."
