Visitor Information

The U.S. Naval Academy Museum is located in Preble Hall on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. It is 35 miles east of Washington, D.C. via U.S. Route 50 (Exit 24), and 26 miles south of Baltimore via Maryland Route 2 or Interstate 97. The area is served by three major airports, several private airfields, Amtrak, buses, and marinas.

Visitors to the U.S. Naval Academy must show a valid government ID (driver's license, passport, CAC, etc.) at the gate.

Directions

Coming east on Route 50: Take exit 24 to Rowe Blvd., Turn left at the second stoplight onto Taylor Ave. After two blocks, Taylor Ave. takes a sharp turn to the right and becomes Baltimore Blvd. (Route 450). Stay on Baltimore Blvd. and turn right at the first stoplight which is King George St. On-street parking is available along most of King George St. Once you are parked, walk to Maryland Ave. and enter the Academy grounds through Gate 3.

Coming west on Route 50: Take the exit for Route 450. Stay right at the fork after the exit and follow the signs to the Naval Academy. Take Route 450 to King George St. and turn left. On-street parking is available along most of King George St. Once you are parked, walk to Maryland Ave. and enter the Academy grounds through Gate 3.

Visitors who have a valid DoD parking sticker on their vehicle may drive onto the Academy grounds through Gate 8 off of Route 450. Proceed down Decatur Ave. and park on the street in front of the museum in any marked parking space. A parking lot is also available across from Alumni Hall just before the museum.
