SELA-02 - Westwego Pump Station Diesel Engine
Remove electric motor and associated components and replace with a new turbocharged diesel engine (J-47)
The contract involves removing an existing 4160-V electric motor, switch gear, and associated electrical components powering pump number 3 and replacing them with a turbocharged diesel engine. The diesel engine is sized to provide the required horsepower under all operational conditions on a continuous rating of 1,200 rpm. The pump station will have a residential type exhaust silencer, three new diesel fuel storage day tanks with associated piping and controls, and will involve the re-piping of three existing day tanks for waste oil storage; elevating the diesel fuel transfer pumps; replacing the existing metal siding with a new engine exhaust louver and extending the existing elevated walkway over the new engine location.
