The DAU Alumni Association and the Acquisition Community Connection (ACC)co-sponsored a Hot Topic Forum on 3 Oct 2012, during which Mr. M.L. “Buzz” Hefti, of Van Scoyoc Associates, explained how acquisition professionals can better interface with lobbyists and congressional staffers. Mr. Hefti has served as a staff assistant to Senator John Warner and is currently a practicing Defense lobbyist. He has vast experience in the congressional arena.

This presentation was not recorded for playback, but the presentation contains a wealth of information based on his years of experience.  The attached slides reflect the ideas and observations of Mr Hefti and are provided to give a perspective from an individual that has worked DoD programs as a Marine Corps Officer, as a DoD Contractor, as a Senior DoD Official, and as a Lobbyist.
