2/28/2012 - WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (AFNS) -- Anyone registering for the Air Force Marathon before March 17, 2012, will be automatically entered to win an All-Access Prize Package.

"This is our third year for this contest, and we've had to move it from July to April and now March because the races keep filling up so fast," said Molly Louden, the Air Force Marathon race director. "We didn't dare wait until after the April 2 price increase because we think we'll already be closed out."

Currently, marathon registration numbers are double that of 2011's pace.

"At this rate, we are encouraging everyone to register now rather than miss out," Louden said. "Runners should check our website or Facebook page to keep up-to-date on our registration percentages."

The 16th annual race, which takes place Sept. 15, includes a full marathon (26.2 miles), a half marathon (13.1 miles) and a 10K race (6.2 miles). A 5K race (3.1 miles), hosted by Wright State University, will take place Sept. 14.

First place winner of the All Access Prize Package will receive:
- Two-night stay at the Holiday Inn Dayton Fairborn
- Two tickets to the gourmet pasta dinner
- Two tickets to the Breakfast of Champions
- Two honored-guest tent passes
- Honored-guest parking pass
- Super-size goodie bag

Second place winner will receive:
- Two tickets to the gourmet pasta dinner
- Two tickets to the Breakfast of Champions
- Two honored-guest tent passes
- Honored-guest parking pass
- Super-size goodie bag

Third place winner will receive:
- Two honored-guest tent passes
- Honored-guest parking pass
- Super-size goodie bag

Everyone who registers for any of the races from Jan. 1 through March 17 will automatically be entered into the drawing. No purchase is necessary to win. People can enter without registering by sending their name, address, phone number and email address to: Air Force Marathon All Access Promotion, 5030 Patterson Parkway, Bldg. 219, Rm. 106, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, 45433. Entries must be postmarked by March 17. Winners will be notified by phone or email by March 30. A complete list of winners will appear in a future newsletter sent to all runners. Winners may pick up their prizes during packet pickup at the Sports and Fitness Expo at The Nutter Center, Sept. 13-14. Prizes are valid Sept. 14-15 only. No substitutions.

All marathon events are open to the public and the race is a Boston Marathon qualifying event. To register, visit www.usafmarathon.com.
