Request or Verify Access to Personal Health Information in MSAT

5/26/2009

The following steps demonstrate how to request access to personal health information (PHI) or check if you have permission to view PHI.

  1. Click JMeWS and the Preferences tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Click the Account tab.
  3. Click the Request PHI tab at the third row of navigation tabs.
  4. If users do not have access to JMeWS, including requests that are pending or have been denied, a message displays that the user does not have access to PHI. If users have PHI access, the screen will display a message noting this information.
  5. If a user's job requires access to PHI, enter information into the Reason for Requesting PHI Access form. Click the Request PHI Access button to submit the form.
  6. A message displays on the next screen indicating the request is complete. Users will receive notification via e-mail after a decision is made regarding access to PHI.
