How do I schedule a Navy Band concert?
There are two ways to schedule Navy Band units to come to your area.
Navy Band Operations handles all performance requests within the Washington metropolitan region as well as requests from sponsors outside the local area that do not occur during our national tours. Depending on the location, sponsors may be required to pay meal, lodging and transportation expenses.
Navy Band Tour Operations schedules and plans all Navy Band tours. National tours are federally funded to support Navy recruiting and increase Navy awareness. Sponsors must provide a suitable performance location and local publicity for the concert; however, the Navy pays for the transportation, lodging, and meals. Can one of your performing groups perform at my fundraiser?
The Navy Band is prohibited by Department of Defense policy from supporting any single-cause fundraising event, regardless of personal or collective views about its worth.
Where can I purchase Navy Band compact discs?
Our recordings are produced in limited quantities and made available on request, free of charge, to public libraries and educational institutions. Please submit your requests on letterhead to the following address and include your job title.

Where can I find ceremonial music to download?
The Navy Band has a compact disc entitled Music for Honors and Ceremonies for commands desiring musical support when a live band cannot be provided. Please contact our Public Affairs department with your request for this CD. Please include your full mailing address. The music from this CD is also available at our Ceremonial Music page.
How do I become a musician in the Navy?
A part of Navy Personnel Command's Fleet Support Department (PERS-4), the Navy Music Program Management Office (PERS-4014) is located aboard Naval Support Activity Mid-South in Millington, Tennessee. PERS-4014 centrally manages the Navy's 12 Fleet bands, one support unit, and two premier bands. PERS-4014 coordinates the assignment and distribution of personnel, equipment and funding to its activities worldwide, and coordinates the accession of applicants desiring enlistment as a Musician (MU). The Navy's School of Music is located aboard the Naval Amphibious Base in Little Creek, Virginia. The School is our primary means of training musicians accepted into the music rating, and serves as not only the "A" school for Navy musicians, but offers further training and development as "C" schools for our more senior Sailors and Chiefs. Can I submit a composition for performance by the United States Navy Band?
We receive many compositions written by patriotic citizens. Our standard policy is to invite the composer to submit their piece in a professionally recorded version along with a score that contains melody line, chord symbols and lyrics.
We invite you to submit your composition, but be advised that we cannot promise that any group in the Navy Band will perform it. Our Commanding Officer/Leader will evaluate it and the final decision on performance will be his. Please note that we will not return your materials.
