Press Release #12-044 - Camp Pendleton officials receive findings of death investigation

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. --
The Commanding General, Marine Corps Installations West-Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, met with members of the Orange County District Attorney's Office aboard base this morning for a brief regarding the investigation and legal conclusion in connection with the officer involved shooting on Feb. 7, 2012, that resulted in the death of Sgt. Manuel L. Loggins, Jr.
Brig. Gen. Vincent Coglianese was presented the findings that were provided to the public today at 1 p.m.
"The death of Sgt. Loggins is tragic and unfortunate," said Coglianese. "While we respect the investigative process by the District Attorney’s office, we continue to provide support to the Loggins family and they remain in our thoughts and prayers."
