Joint Theater Trauma Registry (JTTR) is a stand-alone, store-and-forward application on MC4 laptops used by deployed tri-service trauma nurse coordinators to collect battlefield injury demographics, care and outcomes for both military and civilian casualties.
JTTR is the largest injury database in existence, enabling senior leaders and researchers to study the information collected to uncover new ways to save lives on the battlefield through improved protective equipment and life-saving procedures. Data collected has already paid dividends by way of improved body armor, field tourniquets and bandages with clotting agents.
The JTTR program facilitates the creation of trauma records that are transferred to, and maintained by, the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR).
