The U.S. Army Orchestra in Concert
Sun 4 Nov | 3:00 p.m.
Composed in 1945, Symphony No. 1 by COL (ret) Harold Van Heuvelen was written just prior to and shortly after the close of World War II. The time of its "birth" is significant because the spirit of the work, the very heart and soul of the recorded notations take us back to the year of 1938 when Adolph Hitler was running rampant in the European theater of war, and extending though 1945, including the wonderful glorious peace of that terribly costly and bitter war. - WORLD PREMIERE
