Welcome to the 366th Fighter Wing and Mountain Home Air Force Base. I want to be one of the first people to welcome you. The Gunfighters are members of a unique team with an extremely rich and proud heritage. Assigned weapon systems include F-15C and the F-15E aircraft. We also have the privilege to work alongside the Republic of Singapore Air Force and their newly acquired F-15SGs, as they are now assigned to our base.

Nearby Boise is alive with activity; museums, art galleries, concerts, plays and the symphony are all within an hours drive.

The men and women of the 366th Fighter Wing impart a unique blend of rapid firepower to locations all over the globe. The fighter wing's Gunfighters are ready to deploy against the spectrum of conflict in any conceivable environment.
Our F-15E Strike Eagles afford the Gunfighters unmatched air-to-air and air-to-ground combat superiority. These remarkable aircraft are supported through combat and control, communications, intelligence and numerous support functions. The Gunfighters, a team of expeditionary combat leaders, consolidate these capabilities and forge ideas into airpower.
In addition, the Gunfighters participate in a unique, long-term partnership with the Republic of Singapore Air Force. The U.S.-flagged 428th Fighter Squadron is dedicated solely to the training of Singaporean F-15SG aircrews and operations of their country's newest fighter platform. The combined efforts on this program help ensure a strong U.S.-Singapore relationship while directly enabling Singapore to project airpower into the next generation.
The wing population consists of more than 4,000 active-duty Airmen and nearly 900 civilian and contractor personnel.
The Local Area
Mountain Home is well informed on the base and its mission and is very supportive of the military community. In the fiscal year of 2009 the estimated total economic impact on the surrounding community was more than $1 billion.

Base Numbers
For phone numbers on base use the area code 208 with the prefix 828-xxxx, unless the number begins with 832. For DSN use 728-xxxx and for all other numbers, call the base operator at 828-1110 or look for numbers listed in this guide.
Signing In
Upon receiving notification of your pending assignment here, you should have been assigned a sponsor from your unit. If you don't have a sponsor and need one, call the personnel employments office at 828-2254. Your sponsor should help you get acquainted with the base as well as help you with any housing needs you have, whether you are a family needing a home or a single Airman who will be residing in the dormitories.
If you arrive at Mountain Home AFB by commercial taxi, you should call your sponsor from the visitor's center located next to the main gate. Your sponsor will arrange transportation onto the base or you can call the base taxi at 828-2215. You should go to your unit or to the military personnel flight during duty hours or to base lodging after duty hours, unless other arrangements have been made for you.
In-processing
Base in-processing schedules newcomers for mandatory briefings ranging from Right Start to First Term Airmen Center orientations. All briefings must be scheduled within five days of arriving at MHAFB.
Military members must wear the uniform of the day during in-processing. To keep things running smoothly, newcomers should bring the following items with them:
- Pen
- 12 copies of current orders and any amendments
- Finance records
- Military transportation request, if returning from overseas
- Receipts for hotels, ground transportation, etc. for those who weren't paid mileage
- Government traffic records
- Medical/dental records if hand carried
Lodging
The Sagebrush Inn on MHAFB features seven temporary lodging facility units, 29 regular temporary lodging facility units, six distinguished visitor quarters, 101 regular quarters with shared bathrooms and 50 regular rooms with private bathrooms.
A customer is generally considered to be Priority 1 when on orders and Priority 2 for all others. The reservations line is open 24-hours a day, 7-days a week; reservations are taken/made on a first-come, first-served basis without regard to grade. Space-available reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance for up to three days. The front desk is open 24 hours daily. Call 828-5200 for more information.
If you are PCSing to or from MHAFB you may coordinate a room in the TLF through the Sagebrush Inn; accommodations are both pet and child friendly. The TLF facilities are a new addition to the base and feature a playground as well as other basic amenities.
Distinguished visitors to base holding the rank of 0-6 or above should contact the protocol office at 828-4536 to reserve lodging.
Base Gym
Recently renovated, the base gym facilities are state-of-the-art, hosting four racquetball courts, one basketball court, male and female locker rooms. Both bathrooms feature a sauna, while the male and female bathrooms have 21 and 15 showers respectively. Pool access is available through both bathrooms.
The gym also contains a cardio room, overflow room, large and small exercise room, free weight room, body shaping room and an upper deck. Parents can find a closed off and supervised child play room with popular cardio equipment and free weights surrounding the area so they can complete their workout while their children play. Also available is a gym annex that contains a volleyball court as well as an indoor track in case of inclement weather.
A new addition to the gym is the Lo-Cal Bistro, open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., which features salads, protein shakes and smoothies, coffee and breakfast options. To contact either the base gym or the Lo-Cal Bistro dial 828-2381.

Commissary
Closed Mondays for restock, the commissary is open Tuesday-Sunday and offers a bakery, deli, sushi bar, fresh produce and fresh selection of meat.
Hours of Operation: Monday closed, Tuesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. To reach the commissary dial 828-2286.

Dining
Along with the options provided inside the BX the base offers a small assortment of eateries to include: Kurlys' at the Community Center, Hackers at the golf course, Subway in the shopette, Burger King, Gunfighter Club, Bowling Alley Snack Bar and Lo-Cal Bistro in the base gym.
Golf Course
For the novice and golfer extraordinaire, the Silver Sage golf course has plenty of options, an 18-hole course and driving range that is open 24/7. Clubs are available for rent at $10 and $20 for the premium set and tokens for the range include 30 golf balls for $2. Regular green fees are as follows: for walking E1-4 $10 and $12 for E5 and above. Riding fees are $12 for single and $24 for doubles. Season passes are also available as follows: E1-4 $300, E5 and above $450 and Junior (17 and below) $125. If you don't golf and wish to learn, Silver Sage also offers lessons for $25 per half hour or a package deal of five lessons for $100.

Gunfighter Club
The Gunfighter club offers lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a snack line or soup and salad buffet option. Specialty dinners are held once a month. To reserve a place at a dinner or a room for a specialty function you can contact the club directly at 828-2105.
Hospital
MHAFB's hospital is all inclusive, featuring a 24-hour Urgent Care Center as well as a pharmacy, women's health, lab, dental clinic, flight medicine, primary care physicians and labor and delivery.

FAQ's
Are pets allowed on base?
Yes, as long as these rules are obeyed:
- Pets must be confined at their residence by having them chained, fenced, penned and exercised under the immediate owner's control (leashed). Owners may exercise their animals off leash in open areas (parks, desert, etc.) if the pet is under positive voice control of a responsible individual.
- Pets are to be adequately housed, fed and watered. Cleaning up after pets is a daily task.
- Pets must be registered with the base veterinarian office.
- Family households on-base are limited to two pets (cats and/or dogs). Approval for more than two pets must be obtained in writing through the housing office from the 366th Mission Support Group Commander. Wild or exotic animals, such as snakes, ferrets, etc., are not allowed in base housing.
How do I get to Mountain Home Air Force Base?
By Plane:
Boise International Airport
The closest airport to Mountain Home Air Force Base is Boise International Airport which is located approximately 50 miles from the base. There are limited shuttle services from the airport to MHAFB. Contact the Mountain Home Shuttle Service at 580-1887 for transportation.
By Vehicle:
1. I-84 West From Twin Falls - Take Exit 95 toward Mountain Home/Fairfield onto American Legion. Continue down American Legion (about 2 miles) to a one-way left turn onto Main Street. Continue on Main Street, which turns into ID-67 for approximately 10 miles to the front gate of MHAFB.
2. I-84 East From Boise - Take Exit 90 toward Mountain Home/Bruneau onto ID-51. Continue on ID-51 for about 7 miles through the town of Mountain Home. ID-51 will turn into ID-67; continue for approximately 10 miles to the front gate of MHAFB.
What is there to do at Mountain Home?
There is an on base bowling alley, outdoor paintball area, arts and crafts shop, auto shop, Outdoor Adventure Program, Recreation Supply, movie theater and Youth Center. In the surrounding area is a nature and outdoor lover's paradise, and for the non-nature-lover Boise is just 45 minutes away.

Where can I obtain 366th Fighter Wing patches, posters, etc?

Who has access to the base?
The base is only accessible to military personnel (active duty, reserve or retired) and their immediate family, government service employees and contract personnel. All personnel must show a valid military identification card to enter the base. Those who don't have proper identification must stop by the Visitor's Center located next to the main gate.
