In September 1997, the Department of Defense's Missile Defense Agency and the Australian Defense Science and Technology Organization were involved in Project DUNDEE, a cooperative U.S. and Australia research and experimentation project using Australia's Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar to detect theater ballistic missiles. The aim of Project DUNDEE was to investigate the possibility of detecting missiles in their "boost phase" immediately after launch. |
