Women's History Month - March 22, 2012

The Federal Women's Program of Letterkenny will host a group panel discussion in recognition of Women's History Month. Former female employees from the 1940s through the early 1970s are invited to participate and share about their career and experiences working at the Depot. The program will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Earth Day - April 22, 2012

To recognize Earth Day this year, 1000 trees will be delivered for planting on the Depot. Twenty-five trees will be planted at the Recreation Area on Depot through a collaborative effort between LEAD's Environmental Department and Chambersburg Area Senior High School Agricultural students.

Bring Your Child to Work Day - April 26, 2012

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day participation is open to all students ages 8 to 18, who are currently enrolled in elementary through high school.  The students do not have to be related to the sponsor to participate; however, the students are the responsibility of the sponsor while they are on Depot. All students must be pre-registered to be admitted to the sponsor's workplace. Students participate in lunch with the Depot Commander and receive a certificate.

Armed Forces Day - May 19, 2012

Visitors are able to participate in HMMWV rides and tours of the Depot's facilities to include the Munitions area, the Maintenance Facility, the Tactical Repair Center and the cemeteries and former homesteads. Many children's activities are offered such as the fishing rodeo sponsored by LEAD's Rod and Gun Club, face painting, games and amusements. Many vendors are on display to sell merchandise at the bazaar.

Employee Commemoration Service - May 24, 2012

Letterkenny Army Depot will be holding a memorial service for Letterkenny employees that passed away within the past year. The service is held this year at Letterkenny Army Depot chapel . If you are able to attend, please come join us in memorializing their service to our nation.

Letterkenny Army Depot's Seventh Annual Business Opportunity Showcase - June 13-14

The Depot along with the Franklin County Area Development Corporation (FCADC) and the Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce holds its Annual Letterkenny Business Opportunity Showcase (LBOS).  This event showcases the depot and all that it has to offer to its partners and the community.

Hero 2 Hired - July 9, 2012

A one-of-a-kind Mobile Job Store operation will roll onto Letterkenny to offer the "Hero 2 Hired" program. This program utilizes an electronic job and career web platform, mobile applications and Facebook integration, and virtual and physical career fairs to address the unique employment challenges facing members of the Guard and Reserve. Members of the Guard and Reserve will be assisted in finding employment through the H2H program.  Click here for Information

Employee Appreciation Day - October 4, 2012

The Commander's Fun Run and Deputy to the Commander's Fun Walk kicks off in the morning. Employees participate in a safety stand down, where a variety of topics for safety training are offered until the afternoon when the picnic begins. At the Recreation area the LEAD health and wellness committee provides a tent and information booth for tips on good nutrition and how to stay healthy. Other attractions include the car and motorcycle show, a mechanical bull, horseshoes, games, numerous vehicle displays. The employees' effort to contribute to LEAD's recycling program make this event possible. 

Make a Difference Day - October 27, 2012

This is an opportunity for LEAD to give back and help make a difference on the Depot as well as in the local community. Some events that LEAD Military have participated in include helping serve lunch and distribute flu vaccinations at a local community center, painting the historic Italian Chapel, located on post, and weeding and cleaning the tombstones in the Letterkenny cemeteries. Through supporting Make A Difference Day the employees help serve to meet the needs and better the Depot and the community.
