With the nation's capital at its heart, Naval District Washington encompasses more than 4,000 square miles, including the District of Columbia; the Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's, and St. Mary's, and northern Virginia counties of Loudoun, Fauquier, Fairfax, Prince William, Stafford King George, Westmoreland, Arlington and the cities within their outer boundaries.

Facilities Services Reduction to Impact NDW
Naval District Washington // Oct. 4, 2012
Due to budget constraints in fiscal year 2013 (FY 13), certain maintenance services may be reduced or cut at commands throughout Naval District Washington. Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) released a facilities services message Aug. 29 outlining these service level reductions.
NDW Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

These individuals, from centuries past to the present day, have served proudly and honorably in the defense of this nation. From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, their service and sacrifices are recognized during Hispanic Heritage Month.
Ready Navy: Preparedness Empowers You

In the event of an emergency, readiness can mean the difference between a swift response and a lengthy regret. Ready Navy, the U.S. Navy’s emergency preparedness program, is designed to increase the ability of Navy personnel and their families to better plan for and react to an emergency situation should it occur. According to the official Ready Navy website, emergency planning empowers the individual and their family by saving lives, property and time, ultimately reducing stress on individuals and their families during an already stressful event.
