Preventive Care
TRICARE covers clinical preventive services for all beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries enrolled in a TRICARE Prime Option may receive clinical preventive services from their primary care manger or from any network provider without a referral or authorization at no cost.
For beneficiaries using TRICARE Standard and Extra, there are no cost shares for the following clinical preventive services:
- Breast cancer screenings
- Cervical cancer screenings
- Colorectal cancer screenings
- Prostate cancer screenings
- Immunizations
- Well-child visits for children under age 6
For all other preventive services, cost shares apply, unless performed at the same time as the services listed above.
