  Airport Rangers are mounted security patrol made up of volunteers, including off-duty law enforcement officers that ride their horses along the perimeter of the 13,000 acre Bush Intercontinental Airport.

  Mayor Annise Parker announced a new collaborative effort to broaden the number of young people who reach for the stars in careers in aviation and aerospace with the launch of the Houston Airport System Aviation Club.

  Removal of Dangerous Condos

  
  

  The City of Houston has successfully negotiated an agreement that resulted in the demolition of the run down Winfield I Condominiums at 10403 Forum Park.

  Artwork Honoring Russian and U.S. Space Pioneers

  
  

  Mayor Annise Parker, NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, Russian Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak and various other guests today participated in a dedication ceremony for artworks honoring the first two space pioneers to orbit the earth, Russian Cosmonaut Yuri A. Gagarin and United States Astronaut John H. Glenn.
