OLSON CONGRATULATES NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC BEE WINNER

SUGAR LAND, TX – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) recently met with Rahul Nagvekar, the Missouri City winner of the 2012 National Geographic Bee to congratulate him on representing the community with such distinction.

"The 22nd Congressional District and all of Texas are extremely proud of Rahul," Olson said. "This impressive accomplishment is the result of his hard work and dedication. I'm confident that Rahul will continue to focus on his school work and dream big. Congratulations to Rahul for winning the National Geographic Bee!”

During the National Geographic Bee, held in Washington, D.C., the final question Rahul answered correctly to win the competition was, "Which Bavarian city located on the Danube River was a legislative seat of the Holy Roman Empire from 1663 to 1806?" His correct answer of "Regensburg" earned him a $25,000 scholarship, a trip to the Galápagos Islands and lifetime membership in the National Geographic Society. Rahul was an impressive student at Quail Valley Middle School and will be entering the Math and Science Academy at Dulles High School in the fall.
