Whether it be a simple "hello" or "thank you", the smallest gestures sometimes have the greatest impact. One of the main objectives of the Africa Endeavor 2010 exercise in Accra, Ghana is relationship building, both personal and professional. For the most part, Nigerians were interacting with Nigerians, Djiboutians with Djiboutians and Ghanaians with Ghanaians during the first few days of this communications exercise. However, something amazing started to happen as Africa Endeavor 2010 progressed -- African partners began sharing stories and laughing with other Africans, Europeans and Americans. Everyone started to mingle at meals, during breaks and in the evening. No one can say for sure if the relationships developed here will continue beyond Africa Endeavor, but I have to believe they will from what I've seen. Africa Endeavor 2010's theme, "UNITING AFRICAN MILITARIES AND PARTNERS THROUGH INTEROPERABILTY AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS SHARING" is living up to its billing. The participating nations are truly uniting in Accra, Ghana; however, not just through interoperability and informations systems sharing, but also through the smallest of gestures.
